being a longtime follower of an average Tumblr blog is like walking into a cafe for a cup of coffee once and then continuing to go there every morning for nine years even though it’s now a mattress store

... Hmm, the fact that I think this is a good thing is probably why I can't explain my tumblr use to my IRL friends.

My family *did* once start patronising a store because an employee we'd made friends with at another store had started working there. It was a different branch of the same chain, but I could still see something like that happening with entirely different stores. Sometimes it's not about the store, it's about the people.
